NewBeauty TestTube ::: Summer 2012 Edition

Many of you know I’m a raving fan of NewBeauty’s TestTube. After my Spring products post here, so many of you told me you decided to subscribe. If this is your first time receiving it, I cannot wait to hear your thoughts.

Lets unveil it!

I just received this today so keep in mind I havent tested any of the long-term effects, but here are some first thoughts!

Olay Professional Pro-X Clear “Complexion Renewing Lotion” 0.24 oz3rd part of a 3 step system by Olay meant to clear adult acne, used after the cleanser and treatment. Called a lotion, but texture more like a clear gel. claims: Sheer hydration helps to fade the look of spots and redness for an overall renewed appearance. Will be interesting to see if this helps. I am not sure if the sample is big enough to tell over time. Full 3 step kit $39.99

Neutrogena “Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum” 1 ozThis seems like a full size sample, so it will be nice to see the effects long-term. Strong perfumed smell, but it is pleasant. Nice smooth non greasy texture. claims: Highest concentration of Accelerated Retinol SA available., this advances serum penetrates deep into skin’s surface to quickly and effectively deliver results in just one week. Full size $20

Lumene “Firming Night Cream” 0.5 oz: I look forward to using this one. It smells amazing and has just the thickness I like in a night lotion. It feels luxurious yet it is very inexpensive! Now just to see the results and whether it breaks me out or improves my skin at all. claims: This velvety smooth cream works the night shift to improve skin’s structure so you can wake up to a more youthful looking you. Full size $21.99

InstantEffect “90 Second Wrinkle Reducer” 15 On the Go packetsThis product is making big claims. Fortunately though, I don’t have many wrinkles to test it on. Just the pesky middle eyebrow line. Will try it tomorrow and see what is up. claims: fast working firming serum that temporarily reduces the appearance of crow’s-feet, fine lines, wrinkles, and under-eye bags. Full size: $60

It’s a 10 “leave in conditioner”This is already one of my go to leave-ins and they sell it at most drug stores now even though it is salon worthy. Smells delicious and it is super thick and luxurious. Combs tangles right out. I would imagine it is heavy on fine thin hair, but my hair is fine and coarse and needs the extra moisture and it doesn’t weigh it down.  claims: 10 hair-improving benefits to protect, hydrate and detangle your hair for shinier, stronger strands. Full Size: $20

Ahava “Essential Day Moisturizer”This product is nothing special to me. I have had it before from samples and use it when I run out of other creams. Light texture, smells a bit almondy. claims: Rich in Ahava’s hydrating Osmoter, skin is left soft and smooth. Protects against environmental damage with Vitamin E and soothes with Aloe Vera. Amino Acids are rich in humectants. Full size $39.50

Smashbox “Photofinish”This product creates too many steps to me and I don’t like the matte skin look here in Miami…so not natural! Moisturizer, primer, and foundation is just too much for me. I have had samples of this before and I find it in my drawer months later and throw it out. It is probably great it you need a total HD clear skin under foundation for professional photos or high-profile occasions. claims: The silky blend of vitamins and antioxidants smoothes and perfects skin, while the unique formula helps to inhibit the destruction of collagen, and fills in fine lines and pores for a flawless finish. Full size $36

Neutrogena “healthy skin brightening eye corrector”I’m looking forward to trying this because I just ran out of my Bobbi Brown under eye concealer. Comes in a cool turn and click wand. Product seems more brightening than covering and is thick upon application but is rubbed in to look translucent almost. Would be worth it for the long-term effects if they are true. claims: Packed with a patented blend of hard-working antioxidants and vitamins, this do-it-all product brightens, conceals, de-puffs and eliminates the appearance of dark circles. Full size $13.99

LashFood “eyelash conditioner”I’ve had a sample of this before in the black packaging. This is re-packaged to emphasize its natural ingredients. It seemed to work, but not as well as Latisse of course.  claims: A natural, powerful formulation that is clinically proven to produce longer, thicker lashes and transform frail and brittle lashes into healthy and strong lashes . Visible results within just 4-8 weeks. Full Size $80

Jane Iredale “Tantasia”: I had no idea what this was until a squeezed a huge orange glob on my hand. I will try it on my face as the sample is really too small to try on your body. claims:  Moisturizing, natural self-tanner for face and body. Builds a gradual, natural looking tan within three days, for optimum control and customization. Full size $36

Mally “high shine liquid lipstick”I received the color Orchid, looks like a sweet plum-pink. Super natural looking on the lips. Really soft silky feeling. Not much of a smell. Not sure if it lasts long yet like they claim. Same clicky pen applicator like the Neutrogena concealer. claims: Keep your lips shiny, hydrated and looking luscious with this long-lasting lipstick. Full size:$20
